Chronology
The umbrella collects the institution of the Israelite calendar, the moment when the reckoning of months and years was given a fixed starting point.
The Jewish Year Instituted
On the eve of the Exodus, Yahweh resets Israel's calendar around the month of deliverance: "This month will be to you⁺ the beginning of months: it will be the first month of the year to you⁺" (Exod 12:2). The plural-you marks the address as covenantal — the year's structure is given to the people as a whole. The cross-reference to the broader treatment of time is gathered under a separate entry.
