Chun — spelled Cun in the UPDV — is a Syrian city named once, among the spoils David carried home from his victory over Hadarezer.

A Syrian City of Hadarezer

In the Chronicler's record of David's wars, Cun supplies the raw material for the temple's later furnishings: "And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of bronze" (1Chr 18:8). The city is paired with Tibhath as a possession of Hadarezer; the bronze taken from these two cities passes from David to Solomon and into the great vessels of the temple. The parallel narrative names Betah and Berothai (see 2 Sam 8:8) under separate entries.
