Chuza
Chuza appears once in the gospels as the steward of Herod, identified through his wife Joanna, who travels with Jesus and the Twelve and supports the mission from her own resources.
Herod's Steward
Among the women who accompany Jesus through the towns of Galilee is "Joanna the wife of Chuzas Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who were serving them out of their substance" (Luke 8:3). The name surfaces only through this household notice; the figure himself never speaks or acts in the narrative. What the verse establishes is the social reach of Jesus' following — a steward of Herod's house has a wife who funds the itinerant ministry.
