Cleansing

Cleansing in the topical sense refers to the biblical rites of ablution — the ritual washing of priests, offerings, and ordinary worshipers, the purification of those defiled by leprosy or contact with the dead, and the figurative cleansing of the heart that those outward washings pictured.
