Comforter

"Comforter" is the older English rendering for the Spirit Jesus promised to send to his disciples — the Supporter who would stay with them, teach them, and bring his words to remembrance. Scripture casts this consoling presence as a gift of divine grace, the abiding nearness God extends to his people.
