Crescens

People · Updated 2026-05-07

Crescens is named in a single verse — a brief notice that locates him at the moment of writing.

Departed to Galatia

He appears alongside two other co-workers in a list that opens with a complaint about Demas: "for Demas forsook me, having loved this present age, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia" (2 Tim 4:10).

The verse names three departures in a single breath. Demas alone is described as having "forsook" Paul out of love for "this present age"; Crescens and Titus are simply located — Crescens in Galatia, Titus in Dalmatia — without the same charge of desertion. Whether their leaving is on mission or otherwise, the verse does not say.
