Dekar (UPDV: Deker) is the father of one of Solomon's twelve regional officers, identified in the king's provisioning list only by his patronymic.

Father in Solomon's Officer List

Solomon's administration of Israel is organized under twelve officers, each assigned a district to provide food for the king's house. The second name on the list is given by patronymic alone: "Ben-deker, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan" (1 Kgs 4:9).

The officer himself is named only as "son of Deker"; the father (Deker) supplies the identifying name. The district covers a cluster of towns in the western Judean / Danite border country — Makaz, Shaalbim, Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan — the territory whose tribute Ben-deker was to channel into Solomon's monthly provisioning rotation.

No other narrative attaches to the figure; the name survives only in this administrative list.
