Diklah
Diklah is named once, in the Table of Nations, as one of the sons of Joktan. The single mention identifies him as a descendant of Eber through the line that "was divided" in the days of Peleg, and the name in the genealogical tradition serves both for the man and for the district his descendants inhabit.
Among the Sons of Joktan
The Joktan line is given in a long list of brothers: "And Joktan begot Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah, and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah, and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba, and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan" (Gen 10:26-29). Diklah stands seventh in the list (Gen 10:27), inside the central cluster of Joktan's offspring. He receives no biographical detail beyond the genealogical placement; the name occurs in scripture only here.
