Dishan

Dishan is one of the sons of Seir the Horite, listed in the genealogies of Edom. He appears only in the Edomite name lists.

Son of Seir

The genealogy of Seir in Genesis names Dishan among the chiefs of the Horites: "and Dishon and Ezer and Dishan: these are the chiefs who came of the Horites, the sons of Seir in the land of Edom" (Gen 36:21). The chief-list a few verses later repeats him in the same position: "chief Dishon, chief Ezer, chief Dishan: these are the chiefs who came of the Horites, according to their chiefs in the land of Seir" (Gen 36:30). Chronicles preserves the same line: "And the sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan" (1Ch 1:38).
