Doxology
A doxology is a brief utterance of praise ascribing glory, power, or blessing to God, often closing a prayer, psalm, or epistle. Scripture is studded with such bursts — the songs of Moses and Miriam after the Red Sea, the antiphons of David and Solomon at the ark, the psalmist's recurring acclamations, and the apostolic benedictions that punctuate the New Testament letters.
