Dying

Dying names the act and approach of death — the deathbed scenes, last words, and final breath of biblical figures from Isaac and Jacob to Moses, David, Stephen, and Paul. Scripture also reaches for the experience figuratively, speaking of a saint's departure as falling asleep, putting off the tabernacle of the body, or being gathered to one's people.
