Eliathah
Eliathah is one of Heman's sons enrolled among the singers David appointed for the service of song. He is named once in the family register and once again when the courses are drawn by lot.
A Son of Heman
The Chronicler lists him among Heman's fourteen sons assigned to the music: "Of Heman; the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth" (1Ch 25:4).
The Twentieth Course
When the lots are drawn for the twenty-four courses of singers, Eliathah's name comes up for the twentieth turn: "for the twentieth to Eliathah, his sons and his brothers, twelve:" (1Ch 25:27). The twelve-man unit follows the standard pattern of the chapter — each course made up of the principal and eleven others from his house.
