Elisheba
Elisheba was the wife of Aaron, the high priest of Israel, and the mother of the four sons through whom the Aaronic priesthood descended.
Wife of Aaron, Mother of the Priestly Line
Her single appearance comes in the genealogy that introduces Aaron's family at the time of the Exodus: "And Aaron took to himself Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, as wife; and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar" (Ex 6:23). The verse links Elisheba to the tribe of Judah through her father Amminadab and her brother Nahshon, the prince of Judah during the wilderness period, and names her as mother of the four men whose lines and conduct define the early priesthood — Nadab and Abihu, who perished offering strange fire, and Eleazar and Ithamar, through whom the priestly succession continued.
