Elon-Beth-Hanan
Elon-beth-hanan is a place-name attached to Solomon's administrative geography, possibly the same site as the town called Elon in the tribal allotment of Dan.
A town in Solomon's commissary district
The name appears in the list of officers Solomon set over the kingdom for monthly provision: "Ben-deker, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan" (1 Kings 4:9). The site sits in a cluster of towns in the western lowlands grouped into a single supply district.
Possible identification with Elon in Dan
A bare "Elon" appears in the cities given to Dan: "and Elon, and Timnah, and Ekron" (Jos 19:43). The same district context — Shaalbim, Beth-shemesh, Timnah, Ekron — surrounds both names, and the two may refer to one site.
