Eltekeh

Eltekeh is a city in the tribal territory of Dan, given over to the Levites along with its surrounding pastureland.

The boundary list of Dan groups Eltekeh with neighboring towns: "and Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath" (Joshua 19:44).

A Levitical city

When the Levites receive their forty-eight towns, Dan's contribution heads with this same site, spelled Elteke: "And out of the tribe of Dan, Elteke with its suburbs, Gibbethon with its suburbs" (Joshua 21:23). The two spellings — Eltekeh and Elteke — refer to the same place.
