Eltekon

Eltekon was a settlement in the hill country of Judah, named only in the boundary list that allots towns to the tribe.

A Town in the Allotment of Judah

The town appears as the closing entry in a six-city cluster of the Judahite hill-country list: "and Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages" (Jos 15:59). Eltekon is grouped with Maarath and Beth-anoth among the towns reckoned with their dependent villages, and the verse continues immediately into a further eleven-city group that includes Tekoa and Bethlehem.
