En-Shemesh
En-shemesh is a spring on the border between Judah and Benjamin, marking the same line from each tribe's side.
On Judah's northern boundary
Judah's allotment runs north from the valley of Achor toward Gilgal opposite the ascent of Adummim, "and the border passed along to the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out of it were at En-rogel" (Joshua 15:7). The spring is named together with En-rogel as the line's endpoints.
On Benjamin's southern boundary
Benjamin's frontier traces the same geography from the other side: "and it extended northward, and went out at En-shemesh, and went out to Geliloth, which is across from the ascent of Adummim; and it went down to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben" (Joshua 18:17). The two descriptions, read together, place En-shemesh on the shared line between the two tribes near the ascent of Adummim.
