Endurance

Endurance names the steady continuance of faith and obedience under trial, hardship, and the long stretches of time when the promised outcome is not yet in view. Scripture treats it as a settled quality of character — kept up in prayer, in witness, and in the daily walk — and gathers many figures who held to their course rather than turning back.
