Ephlal
Ephlal appears once, as a single link in the Judahite genealogy that descends through Pharez by way of Jerahmeel.
A Link in the Jerahmeelite Line
He is given by patronymic alone: "and Zabad begot Ephlal, and Ephlal begot Obed," (1Ch 2:37). Father and son frame him on either side; nothing else is recorded. The verse stands within the chronicler's roll of Judah's families, and Ephlal's place in it is to carry the line one generation forward — from Zabad to Obed — within the wider descent traced through Pharez.
