Eran

Eran appears once, as the eponymous head of an Ephraimite clan listed in the wilderness census on the plains of Moab.

Head of the Eranite Family

He is named in a single line of the muster of Ephraim: "And these are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites" (Nu 26:36). Eran stands one generation below Shuthelah and is identified only by the family that bears his name; the verse is the entirety of the record, and the Eranites take their place beside the other Ephraimite clans counted under Shuthelah's line.
