Eshban

Eshban is one of four sons of Dishon listed in the Horite-Edomite genealogies of Genesis and 1 Chronicles.

In the Edomite genealogy

Among the descendants of Seir the Horite tied into Esau's family records, Dishon's sons appear: "And these are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan and Eshban and Ithran and Cheran" (Genesis 36:26).

In the Chronicler's parallel

The same four names appear in Chronicles, with a small variant in the first: "The sons of Anah: Dishon. And the sons of Dishon: Hamran, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran" (1 Chronicles 1:41). Hemdan and Hamran are spelling variants of the same name; Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran stand identical between the two lists.
