Eviction
Eviction surfaces in the parable of the vineyard tenants, where the lord of the vineyard removes the husbandmen who had refused to render their share of the fruit. The figure pictures dispossession as the consequence of breach.
The Tenants Removed from the Vineyard
The parable's closing question and answer make the displacement explicit: "What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others" (Mr 12:9). The tenants are not merely punished; the vineyard itself is taken from them and handed over to others. The eviction is total — the lord reclaims the property and resettles it under new keepers.
