Fatherhood

Fatherhood, taken theologically, names God's relation to his people as the source of life, the giver of every good gift, and the disciplining caretaker of his household. Scripture extends the term beyond creature-language to describe Yahweh's covenant intimacy with Israel and, in the New Testament, the Father's relation to the Son and to those adopted in him.
