Gazzam
Gazzam is the head of a family of Nethinim — temple servants — whose descendants return from Babylon with Zerubbabel. The name appears only in the two parallel return-rosters.
A Family of the Nethinim
Ezra's roster places Gazzam in a triplet with Rezin and Nekoda: "the sons of Rezin, the sons of Nekoda, the sons of Gazzam," (Ezr 2:48). Nehemiah's parallel list reorders the sequence and puts Gazzam at the head of his triplet: "the sons of Gazzam, the sons of Uzza, the sons of Paseah." (Ne 7:51). Both rolls confirm Gazzam's house among the temple-servant contingent of the returning community.
