Geder
Geder is an ancient Canaanite city named once in scripture, listed among the royal seats overthrown in Joshua's southern campaign.
A Canaanite Kingship Defeated
In the catalogue of conquered kings west of the Jordan, the entry runs simply: "the king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one" (Jos 12:13). The verse names Geder alongside Debir as one of the small city-state kingdoms whose ruler fell to Israel as the land was taken. Beyond this single notice, the place itself does not reappear in the Hebrew scriptures; it may be the same site as one of the towns elsewhere called Gedor.
