Gemalli

Gemalli is named once in the Hebrew scriptures, identified solely as the father of Ammiel, the Danite chosen to scout the land of Canaan.

Father of the Spy from Dan

In the roster of men sent out by Moses to reconnoiter the promised land, the entry for Dan reads: "Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli" (Num 13:12). Gemalli appears in scripture only as a patronymic, fixing Ammiel's lineage within the tribe of Dan. He has no recorded actions or further history; his name survives in the genealogical anchor it provides for his son's mission.
