Gimzo is a Judahite town named once, in the list of lowland places the Philistines seized during the reign of Ahaz.

A City of Judah Lost under Ahaz

Among the disasters of Ahaz's reign, the Chronicler records a westward Philistine incursion that swallowed a stretch of Judah's lowland and southern cities: "The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland, and of the South of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Soco with its towns, and Timnah with its towns, Gimzo also and its towns: and they dwelt there" (2 Chr 28:18). Gimzo stands at the end of the list, paired with its dependent villages, occupied by the Philistine settlers who had displaced its Judahite population.
