Haggiah

Haggiah is a Levite named once in the genealogies of 1 Chronicles, in the line of Merari.

A Levite of the Merarite line

The chronicler traces the descendants of Merari through a sequence of fathers and sons. Haggiah falls in that chain: "Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son" (1Ch 6:30). The verse fixes his place by naming the generation before him and the generation after him. He is not given any office, deed, or saying; he survives in scripture as a single link in the Levitical genealogy.
