Halhul

Halhul is a town in the hill country of Judah, named once in the allotment lists of Joshua.

When the tribe of Judah's inheritance is divided into districts, Halhul stands at the head of a small group of towns set among the highland communities: "Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor" (Jos 15:58). The verse identifies the town only by its place in this list, neighbored by Beth-zur and Gedor in the same district. No event or inhabitant of Halhul is recorded; its scriptural footprint is the single line in Judah's territorial register.
