Haruz

Haruz of Jotbah appears once in the regnal notice for Amon king of Judah, identified as the maternal grandfather of the king.

Father of Meshullemeth

The opening of Amon's reign supplies the queen mother's lineage: "Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah" (2Ki 21:19). Haruz is thus father of the woman whom Manasseh took as wife, making him father-in-law to one Davidic king and grandfather to the next. Beyond his hometown of Jotbah, the text supplies nothing further.
