Hashbadana (UPDV: Hashbaddanah) appears once, standing beside Ezra at the public reading of the law.

With Ezra at the Reading of the Law

When the law was brought before the assembled people, a row of men flanked Ezra on the wooden pulpit: "And Ezra the scribe stood on a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Uriah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchijah, and Hashum, and Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, [and] Meshullam" (Neh 8:4). Hashbaddanah is named on the left side of the platform, one of the companions whose presence framed the public proclamation of the law.
