Hashmonah

Hashmonah is one of the named campsites in the wilderness itinerary of Numbers 33. The full record of the Israelite march names it only at the moment of arrival and at the moment of departure, with no further detail about what happens there.

A Stage in the Wilderness Itinerary

The arrival is logged from the previous camp: "And they journeyed from Mithkah, and encamped in Hashmonah" (Numbers 33:29). The departure is logged in the next verse, with no event between: "And they journeyed from Hashmonah, and encamped in Moseroth" (Numbers 33:30). The two-line bracket places Hashmonah on the chain Mithkah — Hashmonah — Moseroth, a single stage in the long list of wilderness encampments.
