Hathath
Hathath belongs to the Judahite genealogies of 1 Chronicles 4, where he is named as a son of Othniel — the same Othniel who appears as the first of the judges and as the nephew of Caleb. The single mention sets him one generation below a celebrated figure without recording any deeds of his own.
A Son of Othniel
The chronicler traces the line of Kenaz down to a single named grandson:
"And the sons of Kenaz: Othniel, and Seraiah. And the sons of Othniel: Hathath" (1Ch 4:13).
The verse concentrates a small clan-line into one terse roll: Kenaz fathers Othniel and Seraiah, and from Othniel comes Hathath. Whatever else may have stood in the family record, the text retains only this name as the link from the judge's generation forward.
