Hauran
Hauran is a district named only in Ezekiel's vision of the restored land, where it appears twice in quick succession as a fixed point along the boundary that the prophet is being shown. Both notices place it in the northeastern quadrant — adjacent to Damascus and on the same side of the Jordan as Gilead.
A boundary marker on the north and east
The northern survey of the boundary runs through a string of named towns and reaches its terminus near Hauran: "Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazer-hatticon, which is by the border of Hauran." (Eze 47:16). When the survey turns to the east side of the land, Hauran is named again as the outer point opposite Israel: "And the east side, between Hauran and Damascus and Gilead, and the land of Israel, will be the Jordan from the border to the east sea as far as Tamar. This is the east side." (Eze 47:18). Together the two verses fix Hauran south of Damascus and east of the Jordan, alongside Gilead, as the corner that anchors the northeastern edge of the restored territory.
