Hazar-Gaddah
Hazar-Gaddah is a town in the southern allotment of Judah, listed once in the inventory of cities given to that tribe by lot. The name appears among a tight sequence of settlements in the Negeb belt without further description.
A Town in the Southern District of Judah
The town surfaces in Joshua's catalog of Judahite holdings, sandwiched between two neighboring sites:
"and Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-pelet" (Jos 15:27).
The verse offers no narrative — only the place-name, set in sequence with Heshmon and Beth-pelet inside the long roll of cities at the southern edge of Judah's territory. What survives is the bare entry that fixes Hazar-Gaddah inside the tribal land grant.
