Headtires are listed among the ornaments and finery of the women of Jerusalem in Isaiah 3:20: "the headtires, and the ankle chains, and the sashes, and the houses of the soul, and the amulets." The passage catalogs luxury adornments that Yahweh declares he will take away as a judgment on Jerusalem's pride (Isaiah 3:16–24).

The word appears only at this verse in UPDV. It renders the Hebrew term for a decorative head covering, distinct from the prophet's disguise referenced in 1 Kings 20.
