Helbon

Helbon is a village in the region of Damascus, named for the wine it shipped into the Tyrian markets. It surfaces once in the catalog of Tyre's trading partners.

The lament over Tyre rolls through the city's commerce nation by nation, pausing at Damascus to itemize what came from the inland north: "Damascus was your merchant for the multitude of your handiworks, by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool" (Eze 27:18). Helbon's contribution is its wine — paired with the white wool of the same caravans — and the village is identified in the text by that one export entering Tyre's ledgers through Damascus.
