Hezrai
Hezrai is the alternate spelling of Hezro, a Carmelite among David's mighty men. UPDV uses the form Hezro in both parallel rolls.
A Carmelite Among the Thirty
In the catalogue of David's heroes in 2 Samuel, the Carmelite stands between two other warriors: "Hezro the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite" (2 Sam 23:35). The parallel list in Chronicles preserves the same identification, pairing him with a different neighbor in the sequence: "Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai" (1 Chr 11:37). The two rolls confirm both his place among the elite warriors and his town of origin — Carmel of Judah, not the northern Carmel ridge.
