Homam

Homam is a son of Lotan in the Horite genealogy of Edom, named only in the parallel registers of Genesis and Chronicles.

The Edomite Genealogy

The Genesis list of Lotan's sons reads: "And the sons of Lotan were Hori and Heman. And Lotan's sister was Timna" (Gen 36:22). The Chronicles parallel preserves the same family but with the variant spelling: "And the sons of Lotan: Hori, and Homam; and Timna was Lotan's sister" (1 Chr 1:39). The two forms — Heman in Genesis, Homam in Chronicles — name the same Horite descendant, brother to Hori and nephew to Timna's father Seir.
