Hoshama
Hoshama is one of the sons of Jeconiah (Jehoiachin), the exiled king of Judah, listed in the Davidic genealogy of Chronicles.
A Son of Jeconiah
The Davidic line is traced through the exile in 1 Chronicles 3, and Hoshama appears among Jeconiah's sons born after the deportation: "and Malchiram, and Pedaiah, and Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah" (1Ch 3:18). The verse contains his only mention in the text. He stands inside the chain of Davidic descendants the chronicler is careful to preserve through the Babylonian captivity, even though, unlike his brother Pedaiah, he plays no further recorded role in the post-exilic story.
