Idbash

Idbash is a descendant of Judah named in the Chronicler's genealogy, listed with two brothers and a sister.

A Descendant of Judah

He appears in the Etam group: "And these were the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi" (1 Chr 4:3). A footnote on the verse notes that "the father of Etam" carries a plural meaning, paralleled in 1 Chr 4:19 and 1 Chr 8:29, and may be read as "the founders of Etam." Idbash thus stands among the founding figures associated with Etam, with Jezreel and Ishma alongside him and Hazzelelponi as their sister.
