Igdaliah
Igdaliah is the father of Hanan, named in Jeremiah's account of testing the Rechabites at the temple.
Father of Hanan
He is named once, when Jeremiah leads the Rechabites into the house of Yahweh: "and I brought them into the house of Yahweh, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the threshold" (Jer 35:4). The chamber assigned to the sons of Hanan stood between the chamber of the princes and the chamber of Maaseiah son of Shallum, the keeper of the threshold. Igdaliah himself appears only as Hanan's father, with "the man of God" placed in apposition in the same clause.
