Imla
Imla is named only as the father of the prophet Micaiah, who is summoned during Ahab's joint campaign with Jehoshaphat against Ramoth-gilead. The patronym appears twice in close succession.
Named in the King's Identification
When Jehoshaphat asks for a prophet of Yahweh and is told the prophets present have already promised victory, Ahab admits there is one more whose word he resists in advance: "And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh: but I hate him; for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Don't let the king say so" (2Ch 18:7).
Named in the Summons
The king then sends for the prophet, repeating the patronym: "Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla" (2Ch 18:8). Imla is identified only by his son's role; nothing else of him is recorded.
