Ir-shemesh

Ir-shemesh is one of the towns assigned to the tribe of Dan in Joshua's territorial allotment.

In the Inheritance of Dan

The name appears in a list of border towns: "And the border of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh," (Jos 19:41). It stands beside Zorah and Eshtaol — a cluster on the same edge of Dan's territory.
