Iram
Iram is named at the close of two Edomite chief-lists, both times as the final entry. He appears nowhere else in the UPDV.
Chief of Edom
In Genesis the genealogy of Esau ends with a roll of Edom's chiefs by district: "chief Magdiel, chief Iram: these are the chiefs of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession. This is Esau, the father of the Edomites" (Gen 36:43). Iram closes the list and the chapter together.
The Chronicler reproduces the same closing pair in compressed form: "chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom" (1 Chr 1:54). Nothing further is said of him; the office and the placement at the list's end are the whole notice.
