Iru

Iru appears once, in the Chronicler's expansion of Caleb's line.

A Son of Caleb

He stands at the head of the list of Caleb's sons in the Judahite genealogies: "And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the sons of Elah; and Kenaz" (1Ch 4:15). The Caleb here is identified explicitly as the son of Jephunneh — the same Caleb who returned a faithful report from the spying of the land — placing Iru in the post-conquest tribal record of Judah.
