Ishbak

Ishbak is named only in the two parallel lists of Keturah's sons. He sits fifth in the order both times, between Midian and Shuah, and nothing else is said of him.

Son of Keturah

The Genesis genealogy after Sarah's death gives the children Keturah bore to Abraham: "And she bore him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah" (Gen 25:2). Six sons are named, with Ishbak fifth.

The Chronicler's roll repeats the list with the relationship made explicit: "And the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan: Sheba, and Dedan" (1 Chr 1:32). The order is identical and the position fifth. No descendants of Ishbak are listed in either passage; the name appears, takes its place in the sequence, and is not mentioned again.
