Ishma

Ishma appears once, listed within a Judahite cluster in the Chronicler's genealogy.

A Descendant of Judah

He stands among the figures grouped with Etam: "And these were the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi;" (1Ch 4:3). A footnote on the verse notes that the singular "father of Etam" carries a plural sense paralleling 1Ch 4:19 and 1Ch 8:29 — "founders of Etam" — so Ishma is grouped with Jezreel and Idbash as a co-founder rather than as one man's son. Their sister Hazzelelponi closes the family note.
