Ishvi

UPDV uses the name Ishvi for two distinct men. The first is a son of Asher, Jacob's eighth son. He is listed in the migration to Egypt (Gen 46:17), the Mosaic census — "of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites" (Num 26:44) — and the Chronicler's genealogy of Asher (1 Chr 7:30).

The second Ishvi is a son of King Saul, named alongside Jonathan and Malchishua: "Now the sons of Saul were Jonathan, and Ishvi, and Malchishua" (1 Sam 14:49). These two men share only the name.
