Ismachiah is a Levite named once, among Hezekiah's appointed overseers of the temple offerings.
An Overseer Under Hezekiah
He stands within a roster of ten: "And Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the leader of the house of God" (2 Ch 31:13). His role is administrative, set within the king's reorganization of the priestly service after the cleansing of the temple.
